SHITO - RYU KARATE MASTER “Kiyoshi” RAMESH
A. Ramesh Babu (Tamilnadu) is one of the important Karate Masters of today India. He learned karate from "Renshi" R.V.T. Mani in 1975.In 1977 he joined with Sensei Mosses Thilak and started a Karate School in Vellore, Tamilnadu. Today within 42 years, Japan Shito Ryu Karate School has over 52 Branches in 5 states.
- Won Tamilnadu Karate Championship for 5 times.
- Received 5 gold medals in All India Karate tournament conducted by A.I.K.F.
- Won open weight championship.
- Participated in 6th World Karate Tournament (W.U.K.O) held in Taiwan in 1982.
- Expertises in Shiyai (Kumite) fighting.
- Acted as a hero in a Tamil film "Neeru Pootha Neruppu" in 1983, also acted as villain and stunt artist in more than thousand films.
- Chief Karate instructor for Tamilnadu Police training school(Vellore) since 1980.
- Received 1st and 2nd Black belt from Japan Master Keni Mabuni in 1981 and 1983 resp.
- Received 5th Dan Black belt from Grand Master Kenzo Mabuni in 1996.
- Received 6th Dan Black belt from Japan Master Inagaki in 2003.
- Received 7th Dan Black belt from WKF
- Received 3rd A.I.K.F Black belt from Shihan Pervez Mistry.
- Member South Indian Artistes association since 1989
- Member South Indian Cine & TV Stunt Directors 'STUNT ARTISTES' union, chennai since 1986
- Awarded Best karate teacher by Self Defence Art club - 1995
- Participated in world shito-ryu karate tournament "OSAKA JAPAN" on 2010
- Received 8th DAN BLACK BELT from President of Karate Association of India Karate R.Thiyagarajan
- 7th DAN Black Belt Japan Certificate
